Guinness is a five year old black gelding that we started for a friend when he was two. We thought enough of him to purchase him when he was three. He is really easy going, great traveling ranch gelding. We have given him some time off different times in his life and he doesn’t change or get fresh. He has been Jessica’s #1 mount through the 2022 calving season. He has become our family’s ‘go-to’ nice gelding and first one to get saddled when someone wants to have a good day! All three of out kids have ridden him and get along great. You’ll notice some online pictures are of him dragging calves for Jessica at Martin’s branding in May. He’s helped us tag over 400 calves this spring, many from his back with a not-so-nice mama near by! He’ll hold a rope for you, doesn’t mind running something down or roping something big, he loves dragging calves to fire, doesn’t get hot or jiggy and he’s not nervous or lonely outside. He really is a nice all-around ranch gelding that is so hard to find right now! Guinness has been team roped on (head & heel) and breakaway roped on quite a lot. He has been hauled a lot of places and takes everything in stride. He’ll be shown heeling and breakaway roping the day of the sale and will be ready to finish and haul by anyone. He’s a nice friendly people-loving gelding that can go any direction. While I would not recommend him as your next top-end PRCA competitor, he would make anyone a great high school or armature jackpot horse, a great safe ranch horse for anybody and a trail horse or flag/parade horse deluxe. He’s the good-looking, sound, young, safe-for-everyone gelding that is very difficult to find and really nice to have in your barn! FMI call Austin or Jessica Grimes cell at 605-488-0440. We have indoor & outdoor arena and plenty of room to come ride prior to the sale SW of Kadoka, SD.
